Donation of European Agency for Reconstruction Signed

In the presence of the great number of journalists, within the premises of Privatization Agency, today has been signed the Agreement on European Agency for Reconstruction donation, which shall be administered by World Bank for the acceleration of privatization process in Republic of Serbia. Non-refundable credit in amount of EUR 6.500.000, in a 30 month period, which beneficiary is Privatization Agency of RS, is assigned for privatization and restructuring of companies and complete transformation of the socially-owned capital in 2007. The funds shall be also used for preparing the enterprises for privatization, as well as for financing of technical assistance and consultants’ services.

This Agreement is a result of the close cooperation between European Agency for Reconstruction, World Bank, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance and Privatization Agency of RS. It represents the engagement of the international community regarding assistance in transitional procedures in Serbia. This project significantly contributes to the process of harmonizing of economic ambience in Serbia for association with the European Union.

The brief presentation of contents of the Agreement by Director of the Privatization Agency, Miodrag Djordjevic was followed by speeches of Minister of Economy, Predrag Bubalo, Director of the World Bank Country Office in Serbia and Montenegro, Carolyn Jungr and Head of the European Agency for Reconstruction representative office in Serbia, Daniel Giuglaris.
